Bill travelled from Palo Alto to be with us at our Anniversary Punting Party in Oxford – it’s the kind of thing he did…! July 1987
I shall be forever in Bills debt for giving me my first break – straight from college to the top room at Dartmouth Park Road with Alastair, John, Dick and Ingelise. Hedda and I were the new girls and it was exciting and inspiring to work with Bill. The most gentle, kind and talented person I have ever worked with and his philosophy taught me that the most important things in life are people.
He was an absolute star and his light shines brightly still – though its hard to imagine that his big bear-like presence is no longer with us.
